Most Sachs mopeds are fitted with drum brakes from the factory. They offer proven technology and, above all, are very well protected against dirt. However, the problem with drum brakes is that the braking power decreases noticeably after several heavy braking operations in succession. If you have increased the performance of your pearl enormously and are travelling at high speeds, it is therefore important to consider an alternative braking system. The disc brake is an ideal solution here, as you can easily retrofit this brake system to your Sachs moped with the kits from our range. Retrofitting disc brakes to your Sachs moped: it's worth the effort
If you want to replace the original brake on your moped with a disc brake, this is not a project that can be completed in a matter of minutes. As a rule, it is not enough to simply fit the brake disc, the brake lever and the hose. The brake calliper and the reservoir must also be retrofitted when installing a hydraulic disc brake on your Sachs moped. To do this, however, your bike must be equipped with a suitable fork for Sachs mopeds and a suitable rim or wheel hub. Only then can the saddle and brake disc be fitted without any problems and then function as intended.
